Senior Health Fair planned

Bibbins Road will be the location of the
annual health and wellness fair and open
house from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 26.
There will be representatives from vari-
ous health care and community agencies,
blood pressure and blood sugar screenings,
chair massages and entertainment by
Lorenzo "Spoons" Brown. Flu shots provid-
ed byWalgreen's pharmacy, most insurances
accepted, including Medicare and
Medicaid. Building tours are available.

Drug Take-BackDay set
The Drug Enforcement administration
andNorthville Township Police have sched-
uled another National Prescription Drug
Take-Back Day which will take place from
10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at the
Northville Township Police Department

This is a great opportunity for those who
missed the previous events, or who have
subsequently accumulated unwanted,
unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose

The City of Romulus will have a fall city-
wide rummage sale from Thursday through
Sunday, Sept. 27-30.
Residents may have a garage/yard sale

Run for theRouge set
Friends of the Rouge and Canton
Township are hosting the third annual 5K
Run/Walk along the Rouge River, Run for
the Rouge beginning with registration at 8
a.m. Sept. 29. The route follows a scenic
trail along the lower branch of the Rouge
River, showcasing the unique natural fea-
tures of the area.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. at
Connection Church, 3855 South Sheldon
Road inCanton.
The run is timed and prizes will be
awarded to the top female and male finish-
ers for each age category. Proceeds will be
used for public education programs coordi-
nated by Friends of the Rouge, a local non-
profit organization dedicated to the restora-
tion and stewardship of the Rouge River.

Concert aids charity
The Mighty Voices of Thunder will
appear in concert at 4 p.m. Sept. 30 at St.
ClementsEpiscopal Church in Inkster.
The concert is a benefit for the Adopt-A-
Child-Size Committee of Inkster, a group
that has worked for 26 years to raise funds
for newwinter clothing and school uniforms
for Inkster children.
The concert has taken place in past years
at the Smith Chapel but will move to St.
Clements at 4300 Harrison in Inkster this
year.
There is no admission but a free will
offeringwill be collected.

The Northville Art House will host an
artists' response to the presidential election
of 2012 during regular Art House hours, 1-5
p.m.Wednesday throughSaturday.
An opening reception is planned from6-9
p.m. Oct. 5 and the exhibit will continue
throughOct. 27.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will
host an American Red Cross Blood Drive

The Romulus Senior Center will host a
Health and Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. Oct. 10. The fair will be open to resi-
dents of Romulus and other communities.
The daywill feature resources and infor-
mation that are helpful to seniors. Vendors
will provide free handouts to attendees.
Flu shots will be available on site. (Bring

The 17th Annual Great Lakes Regional
Chili Cook-off and Motorcycle Show will
take place from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday,
Oct. 14 in downtown Plymouth. The winners
will take home $2000 in prize money, and
the chance to compete in the $25,000 World
Championship Chili Cook-off sponsored by

The first show of the new season at
Tipping Point theater in Northville is
Deathtrapby IraLevin.
The plot revolves around Sidney Bruhl, a
successful writer of Broadway thrillers, who
is struggling to overcome a dry spell, a string
of failures and a shortage of funds. Apossible
break in his misfortunes occurs when he
receives a brilliant manuscript from a stu-
dent in the seminar he conducted at a near-
by college-a thriller
Bruhl immediately recognizes as a poten-
tial Broadway hit. Bruhl's plan, devised with
his wife's help, is to offer collaboration to the
student, an idea the younger man quickly
accepts. Thereafter, suspense mounts steadi-
ly as the plot twists and turns.
Deathtrap will continue through Oct. 7.
The curtain rises at 8 p.m. Thursdays
through Saturdays, with matinees at 3 p.m.
Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. A special 3 p.m.
performance has been added onWednesday,
Sept. 19.
The theater is located at 361 E. Cady St. in
Northville. Tickets are $29 to $32 for adults
and $27 to $30 for students and senior citi-
zens, and are available by calling the box
