Thank you again for your
thoughtfulness and support. It is
truly appreciated.
The Family of MarkBritz
ties like this one, making learning
fun, making history come alive and
encouraging a respect for the past
that set the Northville schools apart
from others. It is no secret that the
annual state test scores usually
demonstrate the incredible results of
this kind of teaching. Northville stu-
dents excel consistently, in part,
because of the attitude of the teach-
ers and administrators in the district
who take advantage of opportunities
like this to teach children.
All the festivals throughout the
area deserve high praise for the spir-
it of community and the celebration
of civic pride they promote. Each of
them celebrates the quality of life in
their individual areas and promotes
the community. Last weekend,
Westland sponsored the Blues,
Brews and Barbeque featuring
hometown talent Josh Gracin. The
57th Fall Festival filled the streets of
Plymouth this month and last week,
the 15th Pumpkin Festival took place
in Romulus. Each of these, along
with the Belleville Strawberry
Festival and so many others, pro-
vides something unique and valuable
to the community.
But only in Northville will there
be 500 costumed third-grade stu-
dents learning about the very foun-
dations and history of their commu-
nity at the same time.
We give the Northville educators
an A-plus for taking advantage of this
unique and valuable learning experi-
ence.
What if, just by chance, Bill
Clinton is right and these current
imitation Republicans simply
don't understand arithmetic? That
would make sense, I guess,
because they've already proven
they're intellectually challenged,
undereducated and developmen-
tally arrested.
Maybe Ryan simply couldn't
subtract the starting time from his
finishing time in the marathon
and actually thought he did run it
in under two hours. Mind you,
this is the guy the party of full-
frontal financial factoids wants to
put in charge of the national budg-
et, Social Security and Medicare.
Yeow.
And back to Georgie W., where
were he and Dick Cheney during
theRepublican love fest?
Seriously, why weren't the most
immediate past president and
vice-president of the Republican
persuasion there? I found that
really curious. Really, really curi-
ous. Could it be the Republicans
are attempting to distance them-
selves fromW's legacy of misman-
agement and Dickie's penchant
for firearms, waterboarding and
other forms of torture?
Something else I found curious
was the apparent divide between
the Republican nominee and the
adoptedpolitical platform. I'mnot
smart enough to understand how
a political party can have a presi-
dential candidate who keeps
avoiding the adopted platform,
but it did prove that Romney is
smarter than I thought. Even his
ambition couldn't blind him to the
complete foolishness of some of
that Neanderthal propaganda. So
maybe that's why he's not support-
ing the platform of the party that
nominatedhim.
I amso confused.
Another item that confused me
was the apparent change of the
basis of the American govern-
ment. When did we become a
theocracy?
I don't want religion to be the
basis of my government. Neither
did Jefferson, Adams or
Washington. They said so, right at
the very first Constitutional
Convention. You can look it up.
But then, they weren't
Republicans, either.
