The Friends of the Westland
Library Book Sale is planned for
Feb. 12-14 with hours from 10
a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday and
fromnoon until 3 p.m. on Sunday,
which is also $4 per bag sale day.
All paperback fiction books
are priced at only a dime for this
sale only.
There will be DVDs, CDs,
hardcover books, large and small
paperbacks, videos, cassettes,
records andmagazines for sale.

The Northville Township
Firefighters Charity Fund will
present the 13th Annual

Wayne Senior Services will
host a free, one-stop health
screening from 10 a.m. until 2
p.m. Feb. 16 at the HYPE
Recreation Center, 4635 Howe

Monarchs, milkweeds, and
disease: Current patterns and
future problems will be the top-
ics at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17
at the meeting of the Southeast
Michigan Butterfly Association
(SEMBA).
Professor Mark Hunter from
the University of Michigan will
discuss the current patterns and
future problems for Monarch
butterflies.

Eagles planMardi Gras
The Van Buren Eagles are
planning aMardi Gras 2016 party
beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday,
Feb. 20 at the Eagles Hall, 9961
Beck Road in Van Buren
Township.
The event will feature an all-
you-can-eat buffet dinner served
from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Music will
be by Monsieur Guillame and
His Zydeco Hepcats. Tickets are
$15 in advance and $20 at the
door, if available.

Indoor Golf planned
Friends of the Wayne Public
Library have planned an Indoor
Mini Golf Fundraiser from noon
until 4 p.m. Feb. 20.
Organizers will turn the
library into a not-too-challenging
mini golf course complete with
18 holes. There will also be a gift
basket raffle, and lunch will be
sold at the “19th hole”. The
library will be closed this day for
normal use.
Student tickets for ages 6-18
are $3; adult tickets for those 18
and older are $5 and family tick-
ets for up to six people are $15.
Children under age 5 golf for
free.
All childrenmust be accompa-
nied by an adult. Tickets are

State of theCity addressed
In partnership with the
Westland
Chamber
of
Commerce, Mayor William R.
Wildwill deliver his annual State
of the City Address at noon Feb.
23 at The Hellenic Cultural
Center, located at 36375 Joy
Road. Wild will reflect on the
accomplishments of the city this
year and outline his vision for the
future, he said.
“My 2015 State of the City
Address focused on all the amaz-
ing accomplishments and proj-
ects the City of Westland saw
throughout the year,” comment-
edWild.
“With this address, we look to
the future. I look forward to
sharing all of the exciting things
we are working on during this
year which is the 50th anniver-
sary ofWestland.”

Barefoot Productions Theatre is home to a new 'dog' who is
causing headaches, heartaches and laughs in the upcoming
production of SYLVIA, a modern romantic comedy written by
