Panic Party is tonight
The Plymouth Chamber of Commerce has
organized the first downtown Men's Panic
Party from 5-9 tonight at stores throughout
the downtown area.
Participating shops include Agio Spa;
Basket Kreations; Bed & Boutique/Little
Black Heart; Bohemian Home; Dearborn
Jewelers of Plymouth; Gigi's Mode; Hands on
Leather; Kilwin's, Razzamatazz; sideways;
Sun&SnowandSunny J's Lingerie.
Philharmonic concert tonight
The Michigan Philharmonic rings in the
holidays with the annual Christmas perform-
ances at 6 and 8 p.m. at the Penn Theatre
tonight, Dec. 15. The family -friendly 6 p.m.
concert features all the beloved music from
the holidays including "Sleigh Ride", "Charlie
Brown's Christmas", "Rudolph" and many
more and also features a side-by-side per-
formance with young string students from
the Michigan Phil Youth Orchestra. A
Christmas Carol sing-along and visit fromOld
St. Nick are planned.
The traditional performance at 8 p. m. will
feature Michigan Philharmonic principal
oboe, Nermis Mieses, on a beautiful solo
from "Gabriel's Oboe", in addition to wonder-
ful traditional holidaymusic and a sing-along
completewith theHallelujahChorus.

WhiteChristmas guaranteed inWestland
The Westland Parks and Recreation
Department will promise one family in
Westland aWhiteChristmas.
Even if there is no snow on the ground
Dec. 21, the family of the winner of theWhite
Christmas will find their home has a snow
covered yard. The contest is
open to all elementary school children
who live inWestland. To enter, simply draw a
picture showing your house covered with
snow on Christmas Day. Students can do this
at home or at school.
The contest winner will be announced
and contacted on Dec. 20. If there is already
snow on the ground, another prize will be
awarded. Entry drawings should be dropped
off between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily, or

48185. All entries must be received by 10
p.m. Dec. 16.
Christmas dinner is served
Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church
has invited the public to the Annual
Community Christmas Dinner which will be
served from3 until 6:30 p.m. Dec. 17.
The event is free and open to the commu-
nity.

Drawings on exhibit
The Plymouth Community Arts Council
will feature the members of Pam
Grossmann's adult drop-in drawing classes in
an exhibit of winter and holiday art. Joining
the group will also be members of Kay
Rowe's Village Artists Studio. The work will
be in various media, including watercolor,
colored pencil, pen and ink, pastel and
mixed media. Many of the pieces will be for
sale. The exhibit endsDec. 22.
A reception for the artists is planned from
1-3 p.m. Dec. 17. The public iswelcome.
Exhibit hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday
through Thursday. The Plymouth

Daddy-Daughter Dance tickets on sale
The Plymouth Recreation Department is
sponsoring the first Daddy-Daughter dance
from6:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 4.
Tickets for the event are $10 and include
music by a DJ from Dramatic Dimensions,
light refreshments and snacks and souvenir
photos and packages will be available to
order at an additional cost.
Semi-formal, dressy attire is recommend-
ed.
Space is limited so advance tickets must
be purchased. Nowalk-inswill be admitted.

Central City dancers perform
More than 125 dancers, singers and gym-
nasts from Canton and surrounding commu-
nities will perform as part of the 8th Annual
Central City Christmas Spectacular Dec. 15-
18.
The show will take place at the Village
Theater at Cherry Hill at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 and
16 and at bothnoon and 5 p.m. onDec. 17 and
18.
Choreography and stage effects were
designed and produced by Tim and Tamara
Smola and Erin Kearney of Central City
Dance.
Tickets are $21 and can be purchased
through Dec. 9 at Central City Dance Center,
6700 Canton Center Road, Canton. Tickets
are reserved seating and cannot be pur-
chased the day of the show.

Magic act
Radatz returns to Cherry Hill
Direct from Las Vegas, magician Aaron
Radatz returns to The Village Theater this
month to celebrate the magic of the holi-
days with his display of magic and comedy.
Radatz' award-winning show, scheduled to
begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, is designed
to fit the holiday spirit and appeal to fami-
lies.
Radatz is well known from his 2009
appearances on Fox's Masters of Illusion
and other live performances at Soaring
Eagle Casino, Cedar Point Amusement
Park, Andiamo Celebrity Showroom and
with theDetroit Tigers.
Radatz was born and raised in Detroit
and began his magic career at the age of 6
after receiving a magic set from his grand-
mother for Christmas. He continued hon-
ing his craft while attending Detroit
Catholic Central and Central Michigan
University; where he recently received
theOutstandingYoungAlumni Award.
Radatz said he was looking forward to
returning toCanton.
"I am thrilled to bring some magic back
to the city and the fans who gave me my
start. I can't wait to give them an amazing
performance."
The highlight of the show inCantonwill
feature Radatz recreating an escapemade
famous by Harry Houdini. He will be
restrained in a regulation straight jacket
and hung by his ankles 40 feet above the
stage as he tries to escape and beat
Houdini's best time.
