The Pearl Harbor Day remembrance is designed to
honor our gallant military men and women who
fought during the December 7, 1941 Japanese Invasion
of the United States. There will be conversation
regarding the direct contributions of Southeastern
Michigan during WorldWar II, which will include the
significant role of Ford Motor Company in the
development of theWillow Run Airport, and the mass
production of airplanes and other military weapons.
We will honor those veterans and their families for
the many sacrifices rendered for the country while
serving in active duty during the start of WWII and
beyond.
Participants will learn:
The historical events and occurrences which lead to the German invasion
throughout Europe and the Japanese invasion of American soil
The history of Willow Run Airport
How the Yankee Air Museum played a major part in the recovery of the
forgotten history of Willow Run Airport
Open to the Public at No Cost!

Tonight from 6 until 9 p.m. will be Ladies
Night indowntownPlymouth.
The event will feature bargains and spe-
cial sales at participating merchants and
many restaurants will also have special
drinks and appetizers for visitors to relax
withafter shopping.

Homeless drive. Donations can be left at any
of the participating stores.
Goodfellows host party
The Wayne Goodfellows will host the 26th
Annual Goodfellows party from5:50-9:30 p.m.
Dec. 7 at theWayneCommunityCenter.
Tickets are priced at $15 and include two
drink tickets, hearty appetizers and a door
prize entry. Throughout the evening there
will be prizes, raffles and auctions.
Entertainment will be provided by DJ Steve
with Swat Karaoke and the juggling bar-
tender, AndyBro.
All proceeds will go to the Wayne
Goodfellows No Child Without a Christmas
program.
The Wayne Goodfellows in a non-profit,
501 c 3 organization.

Santa arrives inRomulus
Santa will visit Romulus Historical Park
at 6 p.m. Dec. 7.
This is a free family event andwill include
the lighting of the official cityChristmas tree.
Santa will then travel to the Romulus
Progressive Hall, 11580 Ozga Road where
children canmake their Christmas requests.
The event is free, although photos with
Santawill cost $3.

Benefit for grief center planned
New Hope for the New Year, an evening
of elegance to benefit New Hope Center for
Grief Support inNorthville is planned from7
p.m. until 10 p.m. Dec. 7 inLyonTownship.
Cost for the event which includes musical
entertainment, gift basket raffles, a chocolate
fountain, hors d'oeuvres and beverages is $40
per person in advance or $45 at the door.
The event will take place in the new
Crestwood model of Pulte Homes located at
58751 Peters Barn in Lyon, south of Ten Mile
andwest ofMilfordRoad.

Museumhosts children'sworkshops
The Children's Christmas Ornament
Workshops will take place at 10 and 11 a.m.
and again at 1 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Belleville
AreaMuseum.
A second workshop, hosted by the Girl
Scouts, will take place at noon, 1 and 2 p.m.
Dec. 15.
Pre-registration for the workshops is
encouragedbut not required.
Children will craft four ornaments to take
home during theworkshops.
The cost is $2 per child and includes a
tour of the museum Festival of Holiday
Trees.
Santa will be available for photos both
days.

Church cookiewalk planned
The First United Methodist Church in
Wayne will host a cookie walk from 9 a.m.
until noonDec. 8.
The event will feature home made holi-
day candies and cookies sold by the contain-
er andpound.
The church is located at 3 Town Square in
Wayne, across fromtheWaynePost Office.

Santa to serve lunch
The Wayne Westland Parks and
RecreationDepartment will host Lunchwith
Santa from 10:45 a.m. until noon Dec. 8 at
theWayneCommunityCenter.
The cost is $4 for residents and $5 for non-
residents. Children younger than 2 are
admitted at no cost. All proceeds will benefit
the figure skating program.
Lunch will include pizza, salad, bread-
sticks, arts and crafts and face painting.
Photo packages with Santa will be avail-
able at an additional fee.
Tickets are limited and can be purchased
at the Community Center, 4635 Howe Road
in Wayne. More information is available by

Church gives away clothing
A clothing give awaywill take place from9
a.m. until 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at Middlebelt Baptist
Church.
The church is located at 943 Middlebelt
Road in Inkster.

Santa's shoes
Young actors, ages 5-18 will showcase their talent in Spotlight on Youth's upcoming
production of Santa's Shoes - Dec. 13 through 16 at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill
in Canton Township. The play begins when Santa forgets to put on his "magic" shoes.
The Elves worry that he will get lost….meanwhile the Ice Princess and her pack of
wolves plot to take control of Santa's flight. They are foiled when the Elves unleash
Robo Elf. Santa himself serves as the narrator of the play and will be available for
photos with Santa. Tickets are only $10 each and the show lasts about 1½ hours with
a 15-minute intermission. Show times are 7 p.m. with additional 2 p.m. matinees Dec.
