Lightfest nowopen
The Wayne County Lightfest will be open
throughDec. 31, except ChristmasDay.
Two new displays have been added this
year and the entire light show has been con-
verted to LED lights. The show features
more than 47 giant animated holiday themed
displays. It is the largest and longest drive-
through light show in the Midwest, officials
said.
Buddy Up programoffered
Allen "Buddy" Shuh, a contestant from
season 13 ofNBC'sBiggest Loser, will
present his "Buddy Up" program for free
and will allow residents to join together and
get healthy during thewintermonths.
Buddy Up 2.0 will be a 7-week program
that ends in a 5K run or walk through the
Wayne Westland Parks and Recreation
Department. The programwill begin Jan. 11.

Church fair planned
The Sharon Church at 28537 Cherry St. in
Inkster will host a Holiday Craft and Vegan

Used books to be sold
The Friends of the Library have sched-
uled used book sales for noon to 4 p.m. the
second Friday and Saturday of the month in
the Romulus Public Library meeting room.

Crafty Storytime on Tuesday
The Leanna Hicks Inkster Public Library
hosts Crafty Storytime from 5-6 p.m. every
Tuesday for children 10 years of age and
younger.
Parents and siblings are also welcome at
the hour when children can enjoy a story
and a fun craft.
The library is located at 2005 InksterRoad
in Inkster.

HAP supports Silver Sneakers
HAP Medicare Advantage will new reim-
burse up to $20 a month or $240 per year for
memberships, group water fitness classes
and personal training through the Wayne-
Westland Parks and Recreation Silver
Sneakers program.
Members must submit a copy of a mem-
bership contract, receipt and usage report to
receive the reimbursement.
Silver Sneakers includes access to fea-
tures such as the cardio theater area, indoor
pool and track, wet and dry saunas,
whirlpool, awellness area and the ice arena.

Library hosts clothing drive
TheRomulus Public Library, 11121Wayne
Road. will host a winter clothing drive until
Dec. 7. The goal is to think about others dur-
ing the holidays by providing warmth during
the coldMichiganwinter.
The collection will include mittens and
hats, which will be turned over to the
Romulus Goodfellows for distribution to
local families.

WayneRotary hosts holiday parade
The Annual Wayne Rotary Club spon-
sored Holiday Parade of Lights will begin at
6 p.m. Dec. 6.
This year, no entries without lights will be
allowed in the parade. There is no cost to

Christmas Parade of Lights planned
The Belleville Area Chamber of
Commerce will present the annual
Christmas parade of Lights at 6 p.m. Dec. 7.
The parade will begin at Belleville High
School.
Following the parade the official city
Christmas Tree-Lighting ceremony will take
place on the lawn of the Belleville Area
Museum, 405MainSt., Belleville.
The event is free and open to the public.

Goodfellows plan fundraiser
The City of Wayne Goodfellows and
Friends will host their 27th Annual
Fundraiser from 5:50 p.m. until midnight
Dec. 6 at Wayne Tree Manor, 35100 Van Born
Road inWayne.
The $25 ticket price includes a full dinner
buffet, dessert, soft drinks and an entry into
the door prize drawing. The evening will
include prizes, raffles, auctions, a DJ, danc-
ing and a cashbar.
All proceeds will benefit the City ofWayne
Goodfellows No Child Without a Christmas
program.

St. Nick Frolic set inCanton
The Canton Senior Center Annual St.
Nick Frolic will take place at the Summit on
the Park Grand Ballroom from noon until 4
p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11. This special
event will include prizes, entertainment and
a delicious holiday meal prepared by the
Summit's new caterer - Katherine's Catering.
A vegetarian entree option will also be avail-
able.
Sounds of the season will be provided by
The Silver Sounds and the PCEP Madrigal
Choir of Canton.

Christmas Memories
Residents to share special stories
Local residents can take to the stage
and become part of the performance
when Barefoot Productions hosts a holi-
day storytelling event thisweekend.
Holiday Memories, an evening of open
mic holiday storytelling, is planned for 8
p.m. Dec. 7. The show is part of The
FlutterBy Hour storytelling series in a for-
mat similar to NPR's Moth Radio Hour,
where human experiences are communi-
cated through spokenword.
For this one special night the Barefoot
Productions' stage will belong to the audi-
ence and offer an opportunity to enjoy "15
minutes of fame" as patrons share their
favoriteholidaymemory.
The theatre setting will resemble a liv-
ing room, with a Christmas tree, chairs
and fireplace to reflect the warmth and
beauty of the holiday. Holiday treats will
be available and the Vintner's Canton
Winery will provide complimentary sam-
plings of hotmulledwine.
Barefoot Productions Theatre is at 240
N. Main St. in Plymouth. Tickets are $15

Barefoot Productions is a non-profit
501(c)(3) organization that provides a vari-
ety of theatrical presentations, including
