Goodfellows need volunteers
The Romulus Goodfellows are in desper-
ate need of volunteers to sell the
Goodfellows papers. Help is needed from
noon until 4 p.m. Dec. 2 and from 10 a.m.
until 3 p.m. Dec. 3.
Any help will be deeply appreciated. To

In Canton, the Goodfellows are also seek-
ing volunteers to help their No Child
Without a Christmas program. Volunteers
are needed to help sort gifts in the lower
level of the Canton Administration Building
theweek of Dec. 12-17.

Donations are being accepted in Canton
through Dec. 9 at Summit on the Park, The
Village Theater at Cherry Hill and the
Leisure Services offices at the Canton
Administration Building, 1150 S. Canton
CenterRoad.
Suggested donations include children's
books, dress-up clothing, games, Legos,
dolls, sports equipment, arts and crafts and
new clothing, shoes and electronics. Cash
donations and gift cards are also welcome.
Stuffed animals are not accepted.

Showroomof Elegance is participating in
the "No Child Without Christmas" campaign
for theCantonGoodfellows.
Now through Dec. 10, any $10 worth of
non-perishable food item or cash donation
brought to Showroom to help families in
need this holiday seasons will entitle the
donor to their choice of a free gift or gift
card from the Showroom of Elegance, while
supplies last.

Drawings on exhibit
The Plymouth Community Arts Council
will feature the members of Pam
Grossmann's adult drop-in drawing classes
in an exhibit of winter and holiday art
beginningDec. 6. Joining the groupwill also
be members of Kay Rowe's Village Artists
Studio. The work will be in various media,
including watercolor, colored pencil, pen
and ink, pastel and mixed media. Many of
the pieces will be for sale. The exhibit ends
Dec. 22.
A reception for the artists is planned
from 1-3 p.m. Dec. 17. The public is wel-
come.
Exhibit hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday
through Thursday. The Plymouth

Brunchwith Santa set
The annual Canton Brunch With Santa
will take place beginning at 11 a.m. Dec 4 at
the Summit on the Park in Canton
Township.
The entire family will enjoy the
Christmas Wonderland and both adult and
children's favorite foodswill be served.
Following brunch, children can share
their Christmas wish list with Santa while
posing for pictures. Parents are encouraged
to bring cameras and video equipment.
Children will also receive a holiday sou-
venir, crayons, and a placemat to color.
Santa will be arriving at 11:30 a.m.
Tickets must be purchased in advance at
the Summit Front Desk, located at 46000
Summit Parkway, during normal business
hours. Online registration is not available.
Ticket prices are: $16 for ages 13 and
older; $12 for ages 4 through 12 and children
3 and under are $4. Ticket sales will con-
cludeNov. 28. Table seating is available on a
first-come, first-serve basis.

Merchants host shopping event
Downtown Plymouth will host Dashing
Through theStores from5-9 tonight, Dec. 1.
Women shoppers are invited to visit the
participating stores and fill out wish lists to
give to family, friends or significant others
plus enjoy shopping, prizes and refresh-
ments. Several restaurants will also have
special drinks, appetizers and more.

Community United Way Hats for the

Lunchwith Santa planned
The Wayne Parks and Recreation
Department will host Lunch with Santa at
the Wayne Community Center from 10:45
a.m. until 1 p.m. Dec. 3.
Tickets are prices at 44 for residents and
$5 for non-residents and the lunch includes
pizza, salad andbreadsticks.
Therewill also be arts and crafts projects
for children and face painting.

Proceeds will benefit the Wayne dance
and figure skating programs.
City plans tree lighting
The official lighting of the City of Wayne
Holiday Tree will take place between 7 and
7:15 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Wayne Historical
Museum.
Santa Claus, Mayor Al Haidous and the
St. Mary Youth Catholic ChurchYouth Choir
will be onhand.
PhotoswithSantawill be available for $3.
Cookies and hot chocolate will be served by
the Wayne Beautification Committee mem-
bers.

HolidayWalk planned
The City of Wayne will host a candlelit
evening of celebration from 4-8 p.m. Dec. 9
throughout the downtown area.
Merchants and residents will celebrate
the season with food, drink, events and holi-
day specials all along Michigan Avenue in
the city. Many local restaurants will be offer-
ing exclusive specials for the evening.
Volunteers are still being sought for the
event.

Ornament workshops set
The Belleville Area Museum will have
Children's Christmas Ornament Workshops
at 10 and 11 a.m. and at 1 p.m. Dec. 10 and
again at noon, and 1 and 2 p.m. Dec. 17.

Clothing giveaway scheduled
Middlebelt Baptist Church at 943
Middlebelt Road in Inkster will be the site
of a Clothes Give Away from 9 a.m. until 2
p.m. Dec. 10 and 11. Clothing for men,
women and children will be given away,
along with other items, on a first come, first
served basis. There is no cost for the cloth-
ing.

BlueChristmas service planned
The Willow United Methodist Church
will feature a special holiday service for
those grieving the loss of a loved one, in the
midst of a relationship issue, facing health
or economic challenges or otherwise facing
a difficult emotional time.
The Blue Christmas service will take
place at 4 p.m. Dec. 11 at the church, 36925
