Club exhibit.

Ghosts, goblins, witches and even skeletons all welcoming
All Hallows Eve when spooky supernatural occurrences are
most likely to happen…or maybe it will just be a 5-year-old
dressed as an angel at the front door looking for candy.
However one celebrates the last day of October, events
throughout the community lead up to the spooky, and very
sweet, celebration.
October 21…
Scavenger 'haunt' planned
Haunted Hideaways will host a scavenger 'haunt' at Mill
RaceVillage from7-10 tomorrownight, Oct. 21.
The event is not a race, but a historical and haunting trivia
type of hunt through theCity ofNorthville.
The event is suitable for families and friends.
The haunt begins at the Cady Inn and the cost is $40 per person.
There will be no more than 15 teams of eight people. Teams can be
matched up the night of the haunt. Each teamwill need one digital
camera and a flashlight.

Psychic to visit library
Psychic JanAlmwill share her experiences as amediumable
to communicate with the spiritual realm at 1 p.m. Oct. 22 at the
WayneLibrary.
Program limitations do not allow for individual psychic read-
ings.
There is no charge for the program but pre-registration is

Cemetery tour planned
The Belleville Area Museum and Historical Society will
sponsor the annual Cemetery History Tour featuring
DentonCemetery from1-4 p.m. Oct. 22.
Tours will depart every 30minutes and participants can
learn about the first families of Belleville, including CivilWar
heroes, revel in cemetery architecture and take home a grave-
stone rubbing. The cemetery is located just south of Michigan
Avenue at Cemetery andCross roads in theVillage of Denton.
Tickets, $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12 are avail-
able at the Belleville Area Museum, 405 Main St; Van Buren
Township Hall, 46425 Tyler Road; Belleville Area District Library,
167 Fourth St.; Sumpter Township Police Department, 23501
Sumpter Road; Belleville City Hall, 6 Main St. and the Bayou
Grill, 404MainSt.
Children younger than 5 will be admitted at no cost. The
raindate isOct. 23.
Proceeds will be used to support the projects and programs
of the Belleville Area Museum including a Civil War
Sesquicentennial Commemoration Series beginning in 2012,
according tomuseumdirectorKatieDallos.
FriendlyMonster Day planned
The Westland Jaycees will sponsor the Annual
Friendly Monster from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 22, at The
Crypt of Carnage, at 1645 Wayne Road, Westland.
The first 100 childrenwill receive a free pumpkin.
This is a free event for children 12 and under,
but the group is asking for a donation of a
canned food item for the Salvation Army
foodpantry.
The Westland Jaycees are a local organi-
zation dedicated to training young leaders
through community service. The Westland
Jaycees have been responsible for past
events such as the Patriots Day Ceremony,
Tribute to The Stars, and the
Annual Easter Egg Scramble.
They have also worked with
other organizations like the
Women of Westland on events
such as 50's with a Mission.
Proceeds from this event will be used
to continue funding community events.

CornMaze open inNorthville
The annual corn maze at Maybury
Farm in Northville offers unique challenges to
even themost experiencedpuzzle expert. This year, navi-
gating the maze and finding all nine wooden animals hidden
throughout will enter visitors into a drawing for a $100 gift cer-
tificate fromMeijer, which sponsored themaze.
The cornmaze is open from1-10 p.m. Saturdays and from1-7
p.m. on Sundays. The last wagon leaves for the maze one hour
prior to closing.
Admission is $8 per person although there are discount
coupons available at the Northville Meijer Service Center,
Tom Holzer Form in Farmington, PNC Banks and at the
MayburyFarmWelcomeCenter.
Parking is free and admission to the maze includes visiting
the farm animals during daylight hours, use of the playground
andpicnic area.
Proceeds from the maze support the farm and help feed the
animals throughout the winter months. Tickets are tax-
deductible.

Howl-ween Pet CostumeContest
The City of Plymouth Recreation Department will sponsor the
third Annual Howl-ween Pet Costume Contest from11:45 a.m. until
1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, inKelloggPark.
Registration will only be open from 11:45 until noon and event
bags will be presented to the first 100 participants. The event is
free.
The Aussie Pet Mobile will be on site and the Humane
Society of Huron Valley will be distributing information and
hosting activities for youngsters. Jill AndraYoung Photography
will be taking photos of bothdogs and kids.
Prizes have beendonatedby localmerchants.

Pumpkin palooza planned in Plymouth
Pumpkin palooza will take place on downtown streets in the
City of Plymouth fromnoonuntil 4 p.m. Oct. 23.
The event will include games, activities, candy stations and
entertainment.
The event replaces The Great Pumpkin Caper which usually
attracts about 3,000 children trick or treating throughout the
downtown area.

Market hosts KidsHalloweenDay
Halloween Kids Day at the Wayne Farmers Market is planned
forOct. 26.
Noel Derr-Johnson has donated pumpkins so youngsters will
be able to decorate a pumpkin andwalk around trick or treat-
ing.
The venders accept the Bride Card/EBT, senior Project
Fresh coupons andWICProject Fresh coupons.
The market takes place in the parking lot of the State
WayneTheater onMichiganAvenueWest inWayne.
The Canton Goodfellows
are teaming up with Canton
Leisure Services in a special
penny drive is planned for 10
