Area students who are qualified have
only until Aug. 1 to apply for the five open-
ings in the International Baccalaureate
Diploma Program at Northville High
School.
Members of the Northville Public
Schools Board of Education approved the
limited Schools of Choice option for the
district at ameeting lastmonth.
Gaining acceptance into the program,
however, won't be easy. A review of each
prospective student applicant's eligibility
for the Diploma Program is required
using the same criteria applied to
prospective resident Diploma Program
students, a district spokesperson said.
Prospective students can obtain the
required Section 105 and 105c application
through the district human resources
office. Completed applications, including
all forms and recommendations must be
mailed or hand delivered to theNorthville
Public Schools Human Resources
Department, 501West Main St., Northville,
by 4 p.m. Aug. 1.
The district is unable to accept elec-
tronic applications, according to the office
of Superintendent of Schools Mary Kay
Gallagher.
Applicants found to be ineligible for the
Diploma Program will be notified on or
before Aug. 8. 2014. If more than five stu-
dents apply and are qualified, the district
will use a lottery system to determine who
will be accepted into the program. If nec-
essary, that random drawing will take
place at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 8 at the board
offices
Selected students will be notified by
Aug. 15.
More information about the program is
available on the district website
http://www.northvilleschools.org/node/6115
Once a student is accepted to open
enroll under Section 105 or 105c, he or she
will continue at Northville Public Schools
until graduation or until he or she with-

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Operating Millage Renewal Proposal
This proposal will allow the school district to continue to levy the statutory rate of 18 mills on all on all property, except princi-
pal residence and other property exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its full foundation allowance per
pupil under Proposal A. The remaining 2 mills are only available to be levied to restore millage lost as a result of a "Headlee"
rollback and will only be levied to the extent necessary to restore that rollback.
Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except
principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, Wayne and Washtenaw
Counties, Michigan, be renewed by 20 mils ($20.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 10 years, 2015 to
2024, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes, the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage
is approved and 18 mills are levied in 2015 is approximately $24,900,000(this is a renewal of millage which will expire on
November 30, 2014)?

biggest Peanut Day fundraiser the
Kiwanis Club of Plymouth has had to
date.
A portion of the funds were ear-
