open at the downtown Romulus Historical

will take place from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on
Friday, July 20 and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Hunter SafetyClass set
A Michigan Hunter Safety Class will take
place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday July
28 and Sunday July 29 at VFW Post 9568 in
Romulus.
Pre-registration for the two-day class is
required and will take place from 5-8 p.m.
July 19 or noon-3 p.m. July 21 at the VFW
Post. Class materials will be distributed at
the time of registration. If registration is
impossible during one of these two sessions,

The VFW Post is located at 39270 Huron

There is no charge for the class and stu-
dents can earn a Michigan Hunter Safety
Certificate, which is required for those born
after Jan. 1, 1960 to purchase a Michigan
hunting license or are planning an out-of-
statehunting trip.
Refreshments and lunch will be served
bothdays of the class.

VFW post and the Wayne County Raccoon
Hunters Association.
Concours d'Elegance visitsMill Race
Vehicles from the Concours d'Elegance
will be visiting Mill Race Village in
Northville at noon July 27.
The Concours d'Elegance is an exhibit of
prestigious collector cars as well as an auto-
motive art exhibition, a vintage car auction
and other events which can be seen it its
entirety at The Inn of St. John's in Plymouth
beginning July 29.
Mill Race Historical Village is located at

and will be sponsored by the Northville

Circus tickets nowon sale
KellyMiller Circus tickets are nowon sale
at the Wayne Community Center. The circus
will be in at Attwood Park for one-day only
with shows at 2 and 5:50 p.m. Aug. 11.
Pre-sale tickets are $6 for children, 12 and
younger, and $10 for adults.

Friends to clean I-275
The Friends of the I-275 Metro Trail will
host a trail work day from 6:30-9 p.m.
Thursday, July 26.
"Despite the hot, dry weather, the vegeta-
tion is growing out of control, sowe'll be beat-
ing back the brush on the section of trail near
Five Mile Road," said Dave Duffield. The
group will meet on the trail or in the parking
lot of Oasis Golf Center on the north side of
Five Mile east of Haggerty, 39500 Five Mile
Road. Volunteers are asked to bring clippers,
pruners, loppers, scythes/sickles, rakes,
brooms and any other brush trimming tools
and towear protective eye wear, work gloves,
long pants and a long-sleeved shirt to protect
against poison ivy. Water and light snacks
will be provided.

Christian concert set
St. Michael Lutheran Church and School
in Wayne will host Spoke Folk, a Christian
musical concert at 7 tonight, July 19.
The church is located at 3003 Hannan
Road inWayne.
Victorian applications available
The Northville Victorian Festival will
return for the 24th year Sept. 21-23 through-
out the downtown area.
Registration for non-profit groups and
crafters who want to the part of the festival
are now being accepted. The festival is spon-
sored by the Northville Chamber of
Commerce and includes a parade, entertain-
ment, food, history and a craftmarket.
Non-profit groups including school clubs,
scouts, churches, service organizations and
others can now apply for booths to sell food
and merchandise as fundraisers or host
games.
Booth rental is $100 for the entire week-
end. Hours will be 5-8 p.m. Sept. 21, 111 a.m.
until 8 p.m. Sept. 22 and noon until 4 p.m.
Sept. 23.
Crafters can join the craft market on
Saturday and Sunday. Craft booth rental is
$130withan additional $10 jury fee.

Grief seminar scheduled
Ward Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a
one day grief seminar, From Grief to New
Hope from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday,
July 28 inRoomC-319 atWardChurch.
This workshop will be presented by Cathy
Clough, founder/executive director of New
HopeCenter for Grief Support and co-author
of Grieving Forward: DeathHappened, Now
What? All adults who are learning to cope
after the death of a loved one are encour-
aged to attend. There is no charge for the
seminar.

There is always a great deal of excitement surrounding the Olympics, and there have
been some unique approaches to celebrating the event. This year, to mark the opening
of the games in London, RealBarBQ of Canton will host an Olympic Eatin' Competition
beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at the 42452 Ford Road location. The adult who
consumes the most pulled pork sandwiches in 8 minutes will win a $200 RealBarBQ gift
card and all other contestants selected to participate will receive $25 gift cards. In all,
eight contestants will be selected to participate, and they will have 8 minutes to finish
off as many pulled pork sliders as they can. Eight children between the ages of 6 - 12
will compete to see who can eat a RealBarBQ Deep Fried Twinkie the fastest. The first
place winner will receive a $50 iTunes gift card, and each of the participants will receive
a $10 book store gift card. Anyone interested in competing is encouraged to enter at
the RealBarBQ restaurant or on-line at realbarbq.com to fill out an entry form by July 20.
Eight people for each contest will be randomly selected by RealBarBQ staff and all con-
