Quilt showopen inBelleville
The Belleville Area Museum and Western
Wayne County Quilting Guild are sponsoring
the 2014 Quilt Exhibit titled, It's aMan's World.
The exhibit, which will continue through
March 29, features antique and contemporary
quilts
There are special demonstrations, bed
turnings, a children's sewing workshop and
more than 130 quilts on display. Velia
Lauerman will offer quilt appraisals from 6-8
p.m. March 20.
The display is open from 3-7 p.m. on
Tuesdays and from noon until 4 p.m.

Church serving Lentenmeal
First United Methodist Church of Wayne
will serve fish dinners from 4: 30 to 7 p.m.
everyFriday throughApril 11.
The fish dinner includes baked or fried
fish, baked potato or french fries, vegetable,
cold slaw and a roll. Children's meals are also
available with nuggets or one piece of fish,
french fries, vegetable slawand a roll. The cost
is $9 for adults and $4 for children's meals.
Home made pies are also available for $1 a
slice.

Wayne across from the Wayne Post office. The

Grace Community Church in Belleville is
offering Saturday Night Live gatherings begin-
ning at 6 p.m. every Saturday.

Storytime continues at library
Preschool Storytime for children ages 31/2
to 5 will continue at the Romulus Public
Library at 6:30 p.m. March 18.
The session includes stories, songs and

Toddler Storytime for children 2 to 31/2
takes place at 10:15 a.m. March 20. No registra-
tion is required.

Dueling Pianos to perform
TheWayne Rotary Club members are plan-
ning a St. Patty's Dueling Piano Party begin-
ning at 6:30 p.m. March 14 at the Wayne
Community Center.
Admission is $20 or a table of 10 for $180
and includes the performance of the famous
dueling pianos. The performance will begin at
7:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Rotary Club
Holiday Parade of Lights.
Food will be available for purchase and

Youth actors present SnowWhite
Spotlight on Youth will present a musical
version of SnowWhite and the SevenDwarves
for oneweekend only, March 13, 15 and 16.
The show is about an hour and a half long
and includes an intermission. It is a humorous
take on the GrimmFairy Tale and is appropri-
ate for small children.
Curtain will be at 7 tonight with shows at
both 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 and
Sunday, March 16. There is no Friday perform-
ance.

Party Planning Showcase set
The Park, 88.1, the student operated radio
station at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park,
will present Celebration Marketplace from 10
a.m. until 2 p.m. March 15 in the Salem High
School Cafeteria.
Celebration Marketplace is the only free
public party planning expo in western Wayne
County. Included will be banquet facilities,
caterers, party rentals, DJs, entertainers, pho-
tographers, videographers, bakeries, custom
invitations, florists, moonwalks and interactive
games, photo booths and others. There will
also be a gifts section.
Salem High School is located at 46181 Joy
Road at the corner of Joy and Canton Center
roads inCanton.
Frog and Toad Training begins
Frog and Toad Survey training sessions for
those interested in monitoring the health of
the Rouge River will take place in March.
Training will take place from 10 a.m. until
noonMarch 15 atNorthvilleTownshipHall
The training session will focus on frog and
toad identification skills in order to help vol-
unteers determine different species out in the
field. Frogs and toads are considered excel-
lent indicators of the environmental quality.
Training sessions are open to anyone, child
or adult, who is concerned about the environ-
ment and wants to play an active role inmoni-
toring its health.
The sessions are free and pre-registration

MarsMadness at museum
March is Mars Madness at the Yankee Air
Museum with special programs from 10 a.m.
until 4 p.m. March 15 and 22.
Admission is free to the exhibit and
Exploration Station, featuring the planet Mars
with video challenges.

Seniors celebrate St. Pat
A St. Patrick's Day luncheon is planned
beginning at 11 a.m. March 17 at the Romulus
Senior Center, 36525Bibbins.
The menu will include a corned beef and
cabbage dinner with potatoes, carrots and
onions, green Jello anddessert.
There will be entertainment, gifts and raf-
fles. Admission is $2.75 per person.

YouTube sensation to perform
Attorney turned Boogie, Blues, and
Ragtime musician, Matthew Ball aka The
BoogieWoogie Kidwill heat up the piano keys
at The Plymouth District Library at 3 p.m.
Sunday, March 16 with a free family friendly
concert. Ball's You Tube video has more than
twomillionhits.

St. Patrick's Day Run set
The Kona St. Patrick's Day Run, formerly
the ShamRock'n'Roll Run, will take place
beginning at 8 a.m. March 16 through
Plymouth.
Registration will take place at Central
Middle School and the 10Kwill begin at 8 a.m.,
the 5K run will start at 9 a.m. and the Hard
RockMilewill begin at 8:15 a.m.
New this year is the Dublin Double, a 10K
and 5Kevent.
There will be a costume contest, a buffet
meal, live music at a concert inside a heated
circus tent when the race is complete and
prizes andmedals awarded.

Art essentials at library
The Detroit Institute of Arts will present
The Essentials from 6:30-7:30 p.m. March 17 at
theRomulus PublicLibrary.
A volunteer from the arts institute will dis-
cuss two dozen must-see masterpieces from
the museum collection, including Van Gogh
andMonet.

Mustang is chamber topic
John Clor, veteran automotive journalist,
and director of Ford Racing will be the spe-
cial guest speaker at the Romulus Chamber of
Commerce Business Luncheon on Tuesday,
March 18. Everyone attending will receive a
free, color commemorative Mustang poster.
This is the 50th anniversary year for the Ford
Mustang.
The luncheon will take place at the newly
renovated Comfort Inn, 31800Wick Road. The

Butterflies andmoths are topic
The Fascinating Lives of Butterflies and
Moths will be the topic of the 7 p.m. March 19
meeting of the Southeast Michigan Butterfly
Association (SEMBA).
Brenda Dziedzic, author and SEMBA co-
founder, will speak about the life cycle of but-
terflies and moths and the dangers they
encounter.
