Church choirs to perform
The combined choirs of St. Mary Catholic
Church in Wayne and St. John Neumann in
Canton Township will perform two concerts
of John Rutter's "Magnificat" with the accom-
paniment of a chamber orchestra at 7 p.m.
on consecutive Saturdays, March 9 at St.
Mary's located at 34530 Michigan Ave. in
Wayne and March 16 St. John Neumann
located at 44800WarrenRoad inCanton.
The concerts are both free and open to all
parishioners, guests and friends. Seating is
on a first-come, first-served basis, and a free-
will offeringwill be taken at the event.
Senior bingo scheduled
Bingo, which improves memory and
offers senior a chance to win money, is
offered at 1 p.m. every second and fourth
Thursday at theWayneCommunity Center.
The games are a fundraiser for the
GoldenHour Club.
The Wayne Community Center is located
at 4635HoweRoad inWayne.
Seniors in Romulus can play bingo at
noon Mondays and Wednesdays at the
Romulus Senior Center, 36525 Bibbins in
Romulus.
Reading programunder way
TheAdultWinter Reading Programat the
Romulus Library, Hot Reads for ColdNights,
is currently under way and will continue
untilMarch 31.
For every book read, participants will be
entered into a weekly drawing for prizes.
Must be 18 or older to participate.
Register by calling the library at (734) 942-
7589. The program is sponsored by the
Friends of theLibrary
Tax assistance available
Tax assistance is available by appoint-
ment only every Wednesday through April 3
at the Wayne Community Center, 4635 Howe
Road inWayne.
No age or residency restriction applies.
Clientsmust file basic/simple forms only
to have preparations done at this site. All
taxeswill be e-filed (electronically filed).

The Romulus Senior Center provides
free tax services through AARP from 9 a.m.
until noon everyThursday throughApril 11.
Tax services will also be available at the
Romulus Senior Towers.

Computer classes offered
Computer classes are now being offered
at theRomulus Library.
All classes free of charge. Register by call-
ing the library at (734)942-7589.
There are often have wait lists for com-
puter classes so students are asked to notify
the librarywhen they are unable to attend so
that another person can take advantage of
the class.
Classes planned include:
Publisher Basics: 9-10 a.m. March 9.
Publisher Advanced: 10-11 a.m. March 9.
Uploading photos to your computer (bring
your digital camera and cable): 9-11 a.m.
March 23.
Meditation classes planned
Free classes onmeditationwill be offered
from1:30-3:30 p.m. March 9, 16 and 23 at The
Center Massage, Yoga and Wellness Studio,
1200AnnArborRoad inPlymouth.
Topics will include concentration and
relaxation techniques and creating a medi-
tative lifestyle, self-awareness throughmedi-
tation. The free program is being offered by
the Sri Chinmoy Centre of AnnArbor.

Book club invites readers
The Romulus Library hosts book discus-
sions from 7-8 p.m. on the second Monday of
each month. Book discussions are free and
open to all, age 18 and up. No need to regis-
ter. Library staff can assist you in getting a

Fish fries planned
First United Methodist Church of Wayne
will host Friday Fish Fries from 4: 30 -7 p.m.
untilMarch 22.
Fish dinner includes baked or fried fish,
baked potato or French fries, vegetable, Cole
slaw and a roll. Children's meals are also
available, with nuggets or one piece of fish,
French fries, vegetable slaw and a roll. Cost
is $9 for adults and $4 for children. Home
made pies are also available for $1 a slice.
The church is located at 3 Town Square,
WayneMichigan across from theWayne Post
office. The church is handicap accessible.

Jazz Band to perform
The Jazz Band at Belleville High School
will host a Spaghetti Dinner from 5-8 p.m.
March 9 at the BellevilleHigh School cafete-
ria.
The Jazz Band will performand local jazz
talentsBlue Steel will also perform.
Tickets are $8 per person.
Summer Camp Fair set
Canton Leisure Services will offer the
Annual Camp Fair from 10 a.m. until noon
Saturday, March 9, helping parents and stu-
dents decide on the wide array of special-
ized-weekly camps or summer-long options
the township offers during school vacation.
This free event will take place at the Summit
on the Park, located at 46000 Summit
Parkway, in theGrandBallroom.
There will be face painting, a bounce
house, and other games and activities to
offer a taste of the summer offerings. This is
a one-stop shopping opportunity for busy
parents to plan a great summer for pre-
school children, youth and teens.
Representatives from more than 25 dif-
ferent special interest camps will be avail-
able to answer questions.
To ensure a spot in the most popular
camps, registration will be available during
the camp fair. Many of the camps will fill up

Taste of Northville returns
The annual Taste of Northville Business
Showcase Event, returns from noon until 3
p.m. Saturday, March 9 at Northville High
School.
The showcase will feature interactive
exhibits from retail, service and non-profit
businesses at this fun family-themed event.
This year, the theme is "Las Vegas/Casino"
and vendors have been encouraged to use
the theme in their displays. Several area
premier restaurants and caterers provide
samples fromtheirmenu to event attendees,
Event attendees can win raffle prizes and
promotional goodies. Voting for the Best
Restaurant , Best Business and Best Theme
displays takes place during the Showcase.

Measure for Measure to appear
The acclaimed male chorus, Measure for
Measure will appear in concert at 4 p.m.
March 10 at Plymouth First United
Methodist.
The group has earned praise for their
lively musical excellence in performances
throughout North America and Europe, and
their repertoire includes selections from
many different musical styles, a spokesper-
son said.
Admission is free and a free-will offering
will be received to benefit the Methodist
Children's Home and the music ministry at
PlymouthFirst UnitedMethodist Church.
