Skate parkmeeting set
The Wayne Parks and Recreation
Department is planning a Skate Park Think
Tankmeeting from7 until 8 p.m. Feb. 1 at the
Wayne Community Center. The informal
meeting will include a discussion and pizza
and pop will be served at no cost. The park
will include skateboarding, in-line skating,
andbikes.
There is no fee to attend but pre-registra-
tion is requested at (734) 721-7400.
'Chicken' tickets nowon sale
Tickets are now on sale for the Actors
Community Theater and City of Wayne
Recreation Department dinner theater pres-
entation of Chicken With a side of Murder, a
comedymurdermystery.
Join an array of wacky characters as they
dine and watch the world's greatest detective
solve murders right in front of their eyes.
There's only one catch . . . anyone can be the
victim, and you're on your own in finishing
the evening alive! Can you solve the mystery
before the detective does, or will the killer
manage to escape the evening and kill again?
Doors at the Wayne Community Center
Banquet Hall will open at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 4
and the showwill begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 4.
Tickets are $35 per person an include the
buffet dinner, open bar and performance.

Seniors host High Tea
Community members of all ages are
encouraged to attend the Canton Senior
Center Valentine's High Tea Event from 1-3
p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 in the Summit on the
Park's Maple Room, located at 46000 Summit
Parkway. A special Valentine's celebration is
planned at this afternoon tea party, which
will feature finger sandwiches, cream
scones, desserts and tea - all provided by
Victoria's TeaSalon.
Registration for this Valentine's Day High
Tea is $16 for Canton residents and $21 for

Church hosts concert
Contemporary Christian artist Marty
Miller will perform in concert at 2 p.m. Jan.
29 at Community United Methodist Church
inRomulus.
Miller will perform original songs along
withwell known songs andworshipmusic.
There will be a potluck supper after the
worship concert. A love offering will be col-
lectedduring the concert.
The church is located at 11150 Olive St. at
the corner of Olive andBibbins inRromulus.
Daddy-Daughter Dance tickets on sale
The Plymouth Recreation Department is
sponsoring the first Daddy-Daughter dance
from6:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 4.
Tickets for the event are $10 and include
music by a DJ from Dramatic Dimensions,
light refreshments and snacks and souvenir
photos and packages will be available to
order at an additional cost.
Semi-formal, dressy attire is recommend-
ed.
Space is limited so advance tickets must
be purchased. Nowalk-inswill be admitted.

Free hockey clinic planned
Boys and girls ages 4 to 9 can try hockey
from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Plymouth
Cultural Center Ice Arena, 525 Farmer in
Plymouth.
Participants should arrive no later than 1
p.m. and pre-registration must be complete
at least a week in advance at. The event is
limited to the first 50 who register at

Free instruction will be provided by Ron
Hayes and coaches from the Plymouth
Canton Hockey Association. The clinic will
be presented by Detroit Red Wings
Foundation, Michigan Amateur Hockey
Association and the City of Plymouth
RecreationDepartment
Participants will receive a hockey jersey
to keep. Equipment is available for use, how-
ever skates are limited.
Free tax help for seniors offered
The City of Wayne Senior Services will
offer the tax assistance through the
American Association of Retired Persons.
The programis free to anyonewho files basic
tax forms and all returns will be e-filed the
day of preparation.
Taxes will be prepared each Wednesday
during February and March by appointment

After school programs offered
Registration for the after school recre-
ation programs sponsored by the City of
Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is
now open, too. Activities include basketball,
floor hockey, dodge ball and several others.
The activities are open to third and fourth
grade students at Hoover, Schweitzer,
Roosevelt, and Taft-Galloway elementary
schools.

Euchre Tournaments set
Buckminister's Pub in downtown
Northville hosts a Euchre Tournament to
benefit the New Hope Center for Grief
Support every thirdTuesday of themonth.
The cost is $15 to play and includes pizza

Chamber is on a roll
The Annual Bowling Night with the
Romulus Chamber of Commerce is planned
from 8:30-11:30 p.m. Jan. 28. Registration will
begin at 7:30 p.m. at Lodge Lanes, on the
south I-94 serviceDrive inBelleville.
The cost for three games of 9-pin, no tap is
$40 per couple or $20 per person. There will
be door prizes a 50/50 raffle, a basket raffle
and a cashbar.
The event is limited to the first 144
bowlers andusually sells out quickly.

Spotlight Players are urging audiences
for their latest interactive dinner theater
production to come dressed in costume to
blend into the oldwest.
The audience will dine and drink at
Miss Lily's saloon, a cleverly converted
Biltmore Studio, where they will help a
cast of crazy characters solve the mystery
of who killed the Eastern stranger.
Cowboys, schoolmarms, gamblers and
saloon girls are all welcome to come out
for a night of comedy, mystery and good
grub. Compete for a chance to win prizes
and maybe even play a role in the night's
drama.
The $45 ticket price includes dinner
and the show and prizes will be awarded
at all shows for costumes and mystery
solving ability. Due to amature theme, this
show is not suitable for children.
The doors to the saloon open an hour
before the 7 or 8 p.m. shows on Feb. 17
and 18 and March 23 and 24. Beer and
wine canbe purchasedby the glass.

Theater at Cherry Hill in the Biltmore

The Village Theater has free parking, is
handicap accessible and has a concession
stand.
